DAY 1 - Bangkok - Ayutthaya (B/L/-)

On arrival at Bangkok International Airport, you will be greeted by our staff and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, meet our local representative for a short introduction to your journey. The afternoon is at leisure – perfect to rest after the flight or to enjoy a first taste of Bangkok’s vibrant atmosphere, where glittering temples stand beside modern skyscrapers.

After breakfast, head to Samut Songkhram to visit the unique Mae Khlong Railway Market, where stalls fold away as the train passes. Continue to the lively Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and explore its canals by motorboat, surrounded by boats full of fruits, spices, and local goods. Return to Bangkok in the early afternoon.

After breakfast, start the day exploring Bangkok’s highlights. Visit Wat Pho, home of the Reclining Buddha, then cross the Chao Phraya River to Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn. Take a short walk through the historic Kudeejeen district before seeing the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, which houses the revered Emerald Buddha. Lunch at a riverside restaurant is included, with the afternoon free for relaxation or individual activities.

After breakfast, depart Bangkok heading north to explore Thailand’s historic heart. Visit Ayutthaya, the ancient capital, including Wat Ratcha Burana, Wat Mahathat with its famous Buddha head in tree roots, and Wat Phra Sri Sanphet. Stop for lunch in Chainat, then continue with a brief visit to Watsriutumpron in Nakhon Sawan. Arrive in Sukhothai in the late afternoon and check in at Sriwilai Sukhothai, a charming boutique hotel near the Historical Park.

Optional early start to join the alms-giving ceremony with local monks. After breakfast, explore the Sukhothai Historical Park, a UNESCO site, visiting Wat Mahathat, Wat Sa Sri, and Wat Sri Sawai by bicycle or electric shuttle. Continue to Bang Thung Hong village in Phrae to see traditional indigo dyeing techniques, followed by lunch in Phrae and a scenic stop at Kwan Phayao Lake. Arrive in Chiang Rai in the evening and check in at Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort.

After breakfast, travel to Thailand’s northernmost region, the Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet along the Mekong. Visit the Opium Museum to learn about the area’s history. On the return to Chiang Rai, explore the Blue Temple (Wat Rong Suea Ten) and the White Temple (Wat Rong Khun), iconic examples of modern Thai art and spirituality. After lunch, stop at Mae Kachan hot springs before arriving in Chiang Mai in the late afternoon. Check in at Chiang Mai Marriott Hotel.

After breakfast, visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai’s most revered temple, with its golden chedi and panoramic city views. Continue to Doi Pui for a stop at a Hmong village to experience local crafts, farming, and traditions. Optional visit to an ethical elephant sanctuary in Mae Taeng. After lunch, return to Chiang Mai’s old city to explore Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chedi Luang, with a possible stop at Bo Sang umbrella village. Evening free to enjoy local dining or night markets.

After breakfast, enjoy free time until check-out by 12:00. Transfer to Chiang Mai Airport for your departure flight.
